Before the Brat Pack, the Rat Pack and the Jet Set- there were The Bright Young People, or Bright Young Things of 1920’s London. The British tabloids adored and scolded their costume parties, pranks and elaborate city wide scavenger hunts. Alcohol, art, drugs and sex fueled these escapades. They represented the seeds of a more Bohemian England as the sun set on the Belle Epoque.
I have spent years going down cultural rabbit holes. Music, fashion, movies, culture- I become obsessed. No matter what they are called, these Bright Young Things carry significance not just of their time and place, but today, as we reuse and recycle everything that has come before. So here is my collection of small obsessions and how I see them in today's fashion and culture.
